Ítem Acceso Abierto The career advancement challenge faced by female executives in Peruvian organisations(ANPAD - Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração, 2018-12-04) Jáuregui, Kety; Olivos, MariellaThe percentage of women in Peru's workforce overall has been growing at a steady rate, but there are still few women are seen in executive positions. This qualitative study describes the challenges in women's professional career advancement in a country in which the cultural pattern of business is dominated by men and where specific roles have been assigned to women. In-depth interviews were conducted with 24 professionals, 11 women and 13 men. The interviews were analysed using qualitative data analysis software. The results show that family responsibilities were the main challenge for female executives' career advancement. Moreover, family responsibilities were linked to other challenges, such as physical mobility, educational attainment, professional experience and informal networks. Family responsibilities can be considered a transcultural challenge to the career advancement of female executives. Finally, the study shows that a country's culture is an important challenge to career advancement, as in the Peruvian context where women are still considered responsible for attending to the family and are assigned a fundamental role in raising the children.Ítem Solo Metadatos Conceptual frameworks for firm strategy: an information systems perspective(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-06-30) Andreu, Rafael; Jáuregui, KetyThe concept of strategy and strategy formation can be analyzed from different perspectives. Mintzberg (1990) has identified ten basic schools of thought in relation to this topic. The strategy is conceived as a process of vision, design, planning or positioning; as a process of knowledge or learning, subject to political, cultural or environmental influences, or more properly as a process focused on transformation. Over the years, information systems have come to play an increasingly strategic role in business, capable of supporting the formulation and implementation of strategies and, particularly, the reformulation of strategies. This paper offers a review of the literature on the subject and relates the information systems with the ten mentioned schools of strategy, allowing the discussion of the usefulness of the different types of information systems.Ítem Solo Metadatos Coppermine: riesgos de la no concentración(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2005-12-30) Jáuregui, Kety; Centeno, Adolfo; Solano, DavidMajor greenfield mining projects are usually surrounded by conflict between the mining company and neighboring communities caused as much by the operator’s mistakes as by anti-mining coalitions and other organized groups rallied around sustainable development issues. For four years while preparation work was underway the mining company put into practice several strategies aimed at addressing claims, including participatory workshops all the way to hiring anexpatriate professional expert charged with addressing environmental issues. A few months before the beginning of mine operations however tension peaked. A multi-sector technical commission was set up including government, residents and company representatives. The technical committee has already issued its report on the issue, including recommendations to keep a watchful eye on the company’s operations. In this context, this paper has as a main goal to present a review of literature of the diverse focuses and models of reduction of poverty and to proportionate a framework of analysis and reflection for future investigations. Methodologically, the paper of literature review, which is of descriptive and theoretical nature, pays especial interest in the proposals developed by Hernando De Soto (2000) and C.K. Prahalad (2005), who illustrate hope to face an endemic problem in an international level. The richness of each focus (its complementarity and integrality) defies the Management of Business because puts in evidence its potential contribution to the fight against poverty. The main result demonstrates that endogenous models, in which poor people are protagonists in the process of reinsertion to development, require two strategies: access to the markets and valorization of its wealth. Poor people require more from market (more capitalism) than from social programs subsidized by the Government.Ítem Acceso Abierto Ethical leadership and organizational support for creativity at work(Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, 2022-06-21) Esguerra, Gustavo A.; Jáuregui, Kety; Espinosa, Juan C.With permanents global changes, organizations are increasingly required to promote employee creative behavior to deal with competitiveness keeping ethical leadership practices and responsible models of management. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Debeljuh, Patricia; Jáuregui, KetyThe balance of work and family is the daily struggle of every person who must satisfy the often-conflicting demands of both spheres of his life. The absence of effective solutions to this problem not only affects the family but also companies through work absenteeism, low productivity, increased stress, among other effects. The working conditions of the future will have to resolve the tensions between old paradigms and new realities and create a culture that reflects the characteristics of the current workforce. To the extent that companies recognize and respond to the family needs of their employees, they will develop strategies to harmonize work and family life. The present study reviews these strategies and their gradual implementation, whose last stage is the creation of a friendly family corporate culture, the only area in which employees can achieve a work-personal balance.
