La Journal of Economics, Finance and Administrative Science (JEFAS), de la Universidad ESAN, es una publicación académica de acceso abierto que presenta investigaciones revisadas por pares en administración, economía y finanzas, con un enfoque en el contexto latinoamericano e iberoamericano. Fundada en 1992 como Cuadernos de Difusión, en 2009 cambió de nombre a su actual denominación como JEFAS. Ha evolucionado en colaboración con importantes editoriales, como Elsevier y actualmente Emerald Publishing. La revista publica investigaciones de alta calidad sin costo para los autores, con el respaldo de ESAN y su compromiso con la difusión del conocimiento científico y académico, y la práctica gerencial.

ESAN Ediciones, 1995-06-30) Solano, DavidIt tries to provide a global vision of how the environmental issue is being handled by the government and businessmen of Peru, as well as to warn about the consequences that the current trend can bring for the development of the country. It maintains that, although the Environmental Code was promulgated, its scope was moderated shortly afterwards through other legal instruments aimed at promoting investment. In the same way, it is affirmed that the creation of a rector, the National Environment Council, will not be a guarantee for the solution of environmental problems either. On the other hand, the very little importance that Peruvian managers give to the preservation of the environment in comparison with those of other countries stands out. Finally, it is affirmed that in order to care the natural heritage, it is necessary to become aware of the complementarity between development and the environment, and that, in the face of this situation, the State is obliged to promote clean technologies that ensure the exploitation of the country's assets and, at the same time, help to preserve them, so that future generations can take advantage of them.Ítem Solo Metadatos Coppermine: riesgos de la no concentración(Universidad ESAN. For four years while preparation work was underway the mining company put into practice several strategies aimed at addressing claims, including participatory workshops all the way to hiring anexpatriate professional expert charged with addressing environmental issues. A few months before the beginning of mine operations however tension peaked. A multi-sector technical commission was set up including government, residents and company representatives. The technical committee has already issued its report on the issue, including recommendations to keep a watchful eye on the company’s operations. ESAN Ediciones, 2007-12-30) Rosell, MónicaThis paper aims at providing, from a sustainable development perspective, an idea about the direction our country will take once the US-Peru FTA is enforced, regarding particularly the environmental, trade and investment areas. The signing of the FTA has led Peru to leave behind a view of the environment vision as a moral and ethical (some times marginal) component of economic relations, to turn it into a regulatory and mandatory consideration overlapping trade and investment to such an extent that failure to comply may lead to sanctions as severe as those pertaining to other matters related to for instance access to or permanence in a given market. These elements underlie the existing culture of government and the ordinary citizen’s so that despite specifi c opportunities to foster development, they are not revealed in human development indicators but only on economic indicators. One of these elements is the natural reaction to changes in the power structure existing inside the centralist system that have been revealed by the slow transfer of competencies from the central to the sub-national governments. This project seeks to be an effective proposal to address these issues. It starts from identifying a district model with critical levels of pollution in which to promote and implement an appropriate environmental education to contribute to the improvement and welfare of the environment The Independencia district was selected for it shows acute health problems, pollution and poor environmental awareness and culture, with the whole purpose of changing the attitude of a group of young people, parents and teachers to the social and environmental problems of their environment, instilling in them awareness and training in environmental education to create a multiplier effect and to improve their quality of life.Ítem Solo Metadatos Obstáculos al desarrollo de las pequeñas medianas empresas en América Latina(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2006-06-30) Zevallos V., EmilioThis document reports progress made in compared research about the environment, barriers and prospects facing small and intermediate size companies in eight Latin American countries, although only six are presented in this paper, namely Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador and Panama. The first section briefly presents each country’s business environment in terms of prevailing concepts, the overall business universe and its trouble spots. It also aims at establishing a general typology of companies. The second section reviews the study’s methodology while the third chapter deals with the elements for doing business in each country (this paper deals only with the financing, human resources and technology components). Finally, it presents some reflections about the condition of small and intermediate companies and some guidelines for public policy actions.
