Co-citation, word co-occurrence, and bibliographic linkage methods were applied to map the knowledge structure in this field. Findings highlight “Pennington-Gray” is the most influential author, “Towards a Framework for Tourism Disaster Management” the most cited article, and “Current Issues in Tourism” the leading journal. “Australia”, the “U.S”. and the “University of Queensland” are the most productive countries and institution, respectively. Network visualisation highlights resilience and crisis response as key themes in tourism research. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in crisis and disaster management in tourism, identifying research patterns that can guide future studies. By enhancing the understanding of how tourism adapts to crises, the findings contribute to developing strategies that strengthen the industry’s resilience, reinforcing its role as a crucial economic driver and employment generator.
