Ítem Acceso Abierto Using the theory of planned behavior to predict nascent entrepreneurship(Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración, 2011) Serida Nishimura, Jaime; Morales Tristán, OswaldoThis study focuses on the factors that lead individuals to create new ventures. To test the integrity of this theory in predicting entrepreneurial behavior, this study uses data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) research program in Peru. The findings of the study provide partial support for the theory. Implications of these findings are discussed.Ítem Acceso Abierto Gender entrepreneurship in Latin America: does the institutional system matter?(Gaziosmanpasa University, 2022-03-30) Guillen, Jorge; Pereira, RenatoThis study attempts to uncover the institutional determinants of female entrepreneurship in a set of eight Latin American countries. Following the institutional system classification in the literature, we grouped the set of countries into three categories: State-Led, Emerging Liberal Market, and Family Led. We then split the data panel into two different groups: Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela, which are mostly State-Led; the other group includes Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, which are either Family Led or Emerging Liberal Market Oriented where the degree of State intervention in the economy is lower. Our research investigated these institutional determinants of female entrepreneurship using a set of socioeconomic, cognitive, and macroeconomic variables. Our findings offer a new perspective on gender entrepreneurship in Latin America, considering internal and external factor. The first considers institutional varieties and the latter macroeconomic effects. This is relevant in order to find relevant incentives of entrepreneurship by gender.Ítem Acceso Abierto Revisión sistemática de literatura sobre factores clave en la identificación de oportunidades de negocio(Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, 2020-09-23) Gamero, Harold; Ostos, JhonyThe identification of business opportunities is a determining task within the dynamics of entrepreneurship. Therefore, different researches have sought relationships between individual factors and the successful results of this first entrepreneurial step. Although numerous factors have been analyzed, there is still a considerable extension of definitions that vary between them. In response to this need, this article develops a systematic review of the literature, consolidating those factors that have been included in this research field during the last ten years. This review was carried out following the Jennifer Platt three-stage methodology, which has been widely used in similar articles. Starting from a total of 3119 articles, a systematic depuration was carried out resulting in an analysis of 30 articles. The results of this study indicate that there are about 22 proposed factors, with five being the most important among them, that facilitate the identification of business opportunities: prior knowledge, entrepreneurial alertness, self-efficacy, creativity, and contact networks. Other factors found in the analysis are: entrepreneurship experience, work experience, education, cognitive abilities, entrepreneurship intentions and the active search for opportunities in the market. This work contributes to the literature by summarizing the factors included in multiple investigations and offering future lines of research for academics interested in the area.
