Estudio semiótico de la relación entre estilo de comunicación y liderazgo: el caso del presidente Alejandro Toledo
(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-12-30) Brown Gutiérrez, Ofelia
Through semiotic analysis, it is possible to know the symbology that a subject makes of his interpretation of the relations with the universe. This study is a first approach to the analysis of the symbolic world of Alejandro Toledo, expressed in his verbal and non-verbal language. It has sought to establish the relationships between leadership and communication style, as well as the role played by administrative language in the exercise of authority and power. To that end, fragments of the president's speeches have been analysed, from the pre-electoral phase to July 2003, and from the constants found, it has been possible to deduce its symbology and identify those aspects that affect the perception that citizens have of it.

Portafolio de marcas: un marco conceptual
(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-12-30) Chailan, Claude; Boyer, André; Calderón Moncloa, Luis Felipe
In the last twenty years, the knowledge of the brand has been considerably enriched, in tandem with the importance it has acquired. But it is necessary to deepen in one aspect of this topic: the relationship between the brands of the same company from the perspective of the organization of their respective territories. This dimension has been very little studied, although it is part of the day-to-day of the managers, who wonder about the most relevant brand strategies to achieve success. The methodological works emphasize the need to operationalize the concepts to allow their measurement. The relationship between unobservable concepts (for example, performance and brand portfolio) is estimated through the study of the empirical relationship in three certain dimensions of these concepts. Thus, finding the measurable dimensions of a concept allows us to account for it and measure some of its components. This article proposes to operationalize the concept of brand portfolio and highlight its measurable dimensions.

The present work exposes in the author's opinion which are the necessary conditions that must converge to make possible a permanent impulse to the scientific and technological development in the backward countries. Toxicología ambiental en minería: herramientas para la evaluación del impacto
(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-12-30) Zegarra Macchiavello, Darío; Frías Martinelli, Óscar
The growing interest in the effects that mining causes on the environment has given rise to new forms of prevention and control in this industry. The start-up of a mining operation can be understood as an alteration of an ecosystem in equilibrium it is already part of a system seeking equilibrium. But how much has the balance been broken and for how long? How to quantify the effect on biota inventories of the affected area? How to consider the bioaccumulation of xenobiotics in the habitat? How to include so many variables their relationships and their temporal evolution? The analysis through the time of these alterations or redefinitions of the variables present in the environment must be considered for a study of the impact on the environment. This paper presents criteria and tools for the analysis of the effects that a mining or industrial operation causes in its surrounding environment. The Probabilistic Risk Assessment (or Monte Carlo Simulation) and the Modelling of Dynamic Systems are analysed tools whose common base is the simulation of models as an approach for the development of summary representations of reality. In order to show the practicality relevance and applicability of these approaches a case study of each of them is reviewed.

E-Learning en Endesa: estudio de caso
(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-12-30) Jáuregui Machuca, Kety
In view of the evident potential shown by new technologies for education more and more companies are developing and implementing training programs using the facilities provided by these technologies. In turn new providers have emerged that develop training programs based on these new technologies seeking greater efficiency and lower costs compared to traditional training. The objective of this work is to identify the relevant factors for the success of the training programs with technological support starting from the case of a Spanish company analysed in depth. These factors have been articulated in a conceptual model that respects some theoretical proposals made previously and with which fits reasonably well.

    On requeriments for mobile commerce
(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2003-12-30) Veijalainen, Jari; Yamakawa, Peter; Matsumoto, Mitsuji; Markkula, Jouni; Tsalgatidou, Afrodite; Hadjiefthymiades, Stathes
Advances in the Internet and wireless networks and the rapid growth in the number of mobile devices have resulted in the accelerated growth of mobile commerce. We consider mobile commerce as a subset of electronic commerce in which transactions are made using a mobile terminal and a wireless network. The user of mobile equipment and its requirements play a role in the development of mobile commerce in addition to technological development and the development of regulatory frameworks. This document addresses the requirements for mobile commerce in addition to technological development and the development of regulatory frameworks. This document addresses the requirements for mobile commerce in a systematic way. First it establishes the mobile commerce scenario by reviewing basic concepts and requirements. Then it introduces a previously published metamodel that consists of four areas of interest: regulatory frameworks business models global infrastructure and support technologies. The requirements for mobile commerce are grouped by these areas and are analysed in this context. The emphasis is on those requirements that must persist. It is shown that many of them originate in a sphere and then propagate to another sphere so that they often take a more concrete form. The sphere of support technologies refers to the future technologies that are being developed now to respond to the requirements that arise in the future.
