(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Debeljuh, Patricia; Jáuregui, Kety
The balance of work and family is the daily struggle of every person who must satisfy the often-conflicting demands of both spheres of his life. The absence of effective solutions to this problem not only affects the family but also companies through work absenteeism, low productivity, increased stress, among other effects. The working conditions of the future will have to resolve the tensions between old paradigms and new realities and create a culture that reflects the characteristics of the current workforce. To the extent that companies recognize and respond to the family needs of their employees, they will develop strategies to harmonize work and family life. The present study reviews these strategies and their gradual implementation, whose last stage is the creation of a friendly family corporate culture, the only area in which employees can achieve a work-personal balance.

(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Louffat Olivares, Enrique
The present article intends to carry out an analysis centred on the design and organizational dynamics of the relations of interdependence between two or more organizations. With this intention two dimensions of analysis are established: the conditioning factors, constituted by the elements: strategy, environment, technology and culture, and the components constituted by the elements: departmentalization, line activities/advisory, description of activities, hierarchical chain, level of centralization /decentralization, administrative scope, communication and decision-making capacity. Then, to have a current vision of the application of this analysis in the organizational practice, exploratory research of qualitative type is carried out in three corporate groups with profiles of networks/alliances of the horizontal and vertical type. The results lead to a positive trend in the acceptance and application of this new network proposal, which implies a profound evolution of the design characteristics and organizational dynamics.

(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Vera, José Carlos
This research develops a financing model for public health services that establishes the health expenditure per person that the State would have to pay according to the package of services it wishes to offer and the population it decides to subsidize. With this objective, it proposes a health insurance system for the entire population, in which the State contributes all or part of the value of the corresponding premiums to the population with the fewest resources, thus replacing the subsidy to the offer —which it currently provides— by the subsidy to the demand, which means freedom of choice of the user as regards both the insurance entity and the service provider. The actuarial financial analysis is used for the necessary calculations, which is based on an analysis of the health situation and the transactions of services in the market in terms of their financial consequences. One of its main findings is to confirm that the problem of health in Peru is not the lack of resources, but the way in which the health sector and the subsidy system have been structured.

(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Matos, Nancy
This work presents a set of reflections on the protection of intellectual property from the perspective of consumer behaviour. It emphasizes that piracy is a complex issue because of the difficulty of establishing benefits and damages and because it causes ethical dilemmas between copyright and the rights of others. After focusing the issue and pointing out the magnitude of the piracy of books, software, discs and films, it analyses what the segmentation strategies of the companies mean, as well as the fact that, thanks to piracy, consumers with fewer resources they can access markets from which, in other circumstances, they would be excluded.

(Universidad ESAN. ESAN Ediciones, 2004-06-30) Roca, Santiago; Simabuko, Luis; Dyer, Jaime
This study evaluates the impact of the elimination of the exemption of the IGV to the interprovincial passenger land transport service -measure provided in 2003- based on the analysis of the tax burden of the companies in the sector and the development of a simulation. It finds that, given the characteristics of this market, in which both formal and informal operators coexist, formal companies would assume the full IGV, a fact that would not only significantly reduce their profitability and expose them to a critical situation but would also harm the users, whose demand would be directed to informal companies, with the consequent loss of quality and security in the service. Moreover, the State itself would achieve an effect contrary to the desired one, since the tax collection would be less than what is obtained when the exoneration was in force. It should be noted that, before one year has elapsed, the government decided to re-establish the exemption of the IGV to the aforementioned service.
